Pricing & Profitability
Working harder, taking on more clients, and wondering why the bank account doesn't reflect it.

A successful tax practice should give you more than another deadline to survive.
Forget the overnight-six-figure fantasy. Real success takes tax knowledge, smart business decisions, solid systems, and the confidence to run your practice instead of letting it run you.
Whether you're building your foundation or rethinking the way you've operated for decades, you deserve more than cookie-cutter advice and empty promises. You deserve strategies that work in the real world.
I've spent decades in the tax industry. I know what a hard season looks like, what it takes to build a successful practice, and how easily the business you started can take over your life.
I'm not here to sell you a fantasy. I'm here to help you make better decisions, build stronger systems, develop your skills, and create a business that works for you.
Some days you need a teacher.
Some days you need a strategist.
And some days you need someone who cares.
Whether you're building your first client base or wondering how you've spent decades in this business and still can't take a vacation during tax season, some challenges are surprisingly universal.
Working harder, taking on more clients, and wondering why the bank account doesn't reflect it.
Last-minute documents, endless demands, and clients who've somehow become the boss.
Everything lives in your head, and nothing runs smoothly unless you're there.
Finding good people, training them, and learning how to lead instead of doing everything yourself.
Attracting the right clients instead of collecting more of the wrong ones.
Second-guessing your choices, resisting change, or knowing what to do but not doing it.
Different experience levels. Different circumstances. A whole lot of the same headaches.
I didn't learn how to run a tax practice from a social media course. I grew up in one. I earned my first paycheck at 14, was managing the office at 18, and have spent more than 35 years learning what it actually takes to keep a business running.
I've lived through the marathon tax seasons, the staffing headaches, the pricing mistakes, the demanding clients, and the days when the business seemed to own me instead of the other way around.
Along the way, I learned something important: being great at preparing tax returns and being great at running a tax business are two completely different skill sets. You need both.
Today, I help tax professionals build better businesses using practical strategies, stronger systems, effective communication, and lessons earned through decades of real experience. And while the tax industry is my home, those business principles don't stop at the April deadline.
I don't teach theory and hope it works. I teach what I've lived, tested, refined, and put into practice.
The advice you need today may be completely different from what you'll need six months from now. And what works for another practice owner might be exactly the wrong approach for your business.
From pricing and processes to hiring and communication, we tackle the skills and knowledge you need to make better decisions.
We look at your goals, your challenges, and your options. Not somebody else's definition of success.
Sometimes you already know what needs to happen. You just need someone who won't let you keep putting it off.
I don't coach everyone the same way because people aren't interchangeable. I've spent years studying effective communication and behavioral styles, including DiSC, because knowing what to say is only half the equation. Knowing how to say it matters, too.
The goal isn't to turn you into me. It's to help you become a better version of the business owner you want to be.
I'm not asking you to take my word for it. Come hear me teach, ask questions, join the conversations, and decide whether my approach is right for you. There's plenty of opportunity to get involved before we ever talk about coaching.
Join me for a weekly interactive Zoom meeting exclusively for tax professionals. Bring your questions about practice management, pricing, clients, processes, staffing, or whatever business challenge you're facing. This is your opportunity to ask questions, join the discussion, and hear how I approach real situations.
Join Tashara Gray and me for candid conversations about the mindset, decisions, challenges, and realities of entrepreneurship. This isn't just for tax professionals. Business owners and entrepreneurs from every industry are welcome. Come listen, learn, and get a fresh perspective.
Our Tax Preparer Support Group brings together more than 11,000 tax professionals to exchange ideas, ask questions, and learn from one another. You don't have to figure everything out alone.
When you're ready for more structure, more education, or an in-person experience, there are plenty of ways to keep learning.
Start wherever you're comfortable. The important thing is to start building the business you actually want.
